11. Maintaining eligibility requirements
A licence holder must ensure they continue to comply with all the eligibility requirements applying to the licence during the term of the licence. Failure to do so is grounds for disciplinary action of both electrical workers and electrical contractors (refer to s.106(e) and s.107(1)(j), ESA 2002).
In addition, an employer must ensure workers who are required to perform, or help in performing, electrical work are competent in rescue and resuscitation in accordance with recognised practices in the electricity industry (s.21, ESR 2002). One of the ways employers may satisfy themselves of workers' competence is by ensuring their workers maintain current qualifications, statement of attainments or certificates signed by the training provider stating the individual is competent. Currency in rescue procedures will be required by electrical linespersons.
