Changes to the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 from 18 June 2009

A number of changes to the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 (the Regulation) have become effective from 18 June 2009 with the update of the schedule of fees commencing from 1 July 2009.

These amendments relate to administrative components of the regulation in a number of areas including external licence equivalents, the annual electrical safety contribution amount and the annual regulated fee increases as below.

Definitions for Part 13, Division 1 Electrical Safety Contributions

In accordance with the review of the annual electrical safety contribution by the electricity entities, the Regulation has been updated to reflect the total contribution amount for the current financial year.

Update of Schedule 1 External licences and electrical work licence equivalents

Schedule 1 lists all Australian and New Zealand equivalent licences to Queensland electrical mechanic and electrical fitter licence categories. This amendment adds an additional Tasmanian licence equivalent to schedule.

Update of Schedule 7 Fees

Schedule 7 has been updated to reflect the Government’s approved Consumer Price increase approved by Queensland Treasury for the period 2009 – 2010.

The full details of the amendments are available in the Electrical Safety and Another Regulation Amendment Regulation No.1 2009  (PDF, 194 KB).
